Last of these projects was 3D design, our brief was to design a memory vessel for a real life person pf fictional character of our choice and me being a massive fan of The Wire I chose Jimmy McNulty.
Researching McNulty was an excuse to watch The Wire all over again and whilst I could of just wrote a biography in my sketchbook I decided to cut and stick a load of quotes down - quotes from The Wire are too good to leave out! Some of my favourites are...

Below is mood board I set up, probably stuck too much down...but I had printed that much off (which costs a fortune at uni) that I wasn't wasting any of it!
The memory vessell could be anything you wanted it to be as long as it was relevant to that person and it is something that they would really want. The bottle below would be a Jameson bottle which concealed behind the label would be a hidden compartment which would store items he would associate certain memories to, the idea is sort of a metaphor of how you may feel when you get to the end of a bottle, reflective, regretful and all that.
Above are just a couple of the ideas I came up with but in the end I went with the bottle with a hidden compartment, I've changed it a bit since and now its made out of broken/distorted metal to reflect the characters tough yet damaged personality. My tutor said he would make a full sized mock up of my design butttt he hasn't got round to it, he said he'd do it over Christmas and include it with the rest of my project which has been handed in already, so if he does I'll put some photo's of it up on here.
