Fashion was the next project, after the briefing I walked out feeling I was going to hate the next 2 weeks - but to be fair it was alright. We had to choose an outfit from a spring collection on Style.com, I chose a Walter Van Beirendonck piece and I had to argue with my tutor to let me use it as she saw it was boring but it was the only one I really like and I'm not working with something I hate!
So we had to design a head or body piece to go with our chosen outfits, we was given a lift of artists/designers/architects to research and fortunately for me Herzog and De Meuron was on there and being interested in sport and inparticular football it was nice to be able to research a company that have designed football and sport stadia including the Olympic Beijing National Stadium (below).
Below is my head, painted in black - kind of locks like that guy out of The Watchmen.
So my final piece looked like that, I sprayed in blue but it makes it looks like I made it out of blue tak. I'm not happy with it but it proved harder to make than I had anticipated and in the end I just had to hand it in.
We also to create some of own outfits and take pictures, being the only guy in my group having to play dress-up with 5 girls wasn't exactly my idea of fun especially when all the stuff they gave us to use looked liked Lady Gaga's hand me downs...nevertheless I did my best to do somethings I liked.
