My name is Adam, I'm 24 and I've just gone back to university studying Art & Design - The thing is I haven't done anything artistic for about 5 years!
I did Art at GCSE but got a D, I did Product Design for a few weeks when I was 19 at university before I dropped out! Since then I've worked from one uninteresting job to the next before realising I was nowhere near where I had wanted to be. So, I quit, went travelling around Australia and then came back and applied for uni again.
My plan was to document my re-education with this blog but since Septmeber we've had so much work the time never seemed to make itself avaliable to write this. But, now we've broken up for Christmas so I'll fill you all in now what we've been doing for the last few weeks...
Week 1 - Lie Of The Land
(Enviromental Art Sculpture)
We went to Delemere Forest, near Knutsford to explore, be inspired and find a site to create out sculpture. We then went back and working in groups, researched and came up with an idea.
We got our idea from Mikael Hansens 1995 piece 'organic highway', we had a this beautiful spot - a jetty going out into this huge lake and below is our final piece...
It was back breaking work, but was worth it. Finished the project with a B+ which considering it's my first Art project for years pretty pleased with it.
I'll post the rest of the projects up over the next few days.
Peace.
